The Maxwell B. Hamrick  Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded in 1953 by Maxwell B. Hamrick who operated the business out of his home. Mackie then moved the business to Fairview Street in Boiling Springs, NC. He was joined there by his sons, Maxwell B. Hamrick, Jr. (Buddy) and George Fredrick Hamrick (Fred) and later his daughter, Teresa Hamrick Huggins. The agency was incorporated in 1976. In June 1990, the agency bought the Jack R. Dover Insurance Agency and combined the two in a new building on North Main Street. In 1992 the agency bought the Jim Cline Agency in Fallston, NC and operated the agency as the Fallston Branch, later moving it to Shelby. The agency also bought Hardin Insurance located in Spindale, NC in 1996 and operated that office as our Spindale Branch. In 2005, the agency initiated a major expansions on the main office in Boiling Springs, enlarging it to 6700 square feet which included a state of the art computer center. It employs twenty-two employees in three locations.
